Our adboard rentals are back online following a major update.
A problem was found that prevented users from linking to items with long URLs on the marketplace.
We have now addressed this issue and also updated the adboards with their own meshes, making a few other quality of life improvements along the way. Current tenants will receive a notecard with specific details when they next visit their adboard.

Following the release of Linden Lab’s EEP, we’ve customized the region day cycle and have mostly kept our familiar look at ground level while keeping the sky above 1000m fixed to default midday. We hope this will make it easier for users of the sky platforms to see what they’re doing during the night time, as our previous configuration saw very dark periods that were inconvenient while working.
We’ve also made some adjustments to the sim lighting to compensate for the darker mornings and evenings, and have added a plethora of environmental sounds along the shores to help the sim feel more alive. Let us know what you think in the comments!
Courtesy of the Really Useful Scripts Corner, we now host a swimming system that works in conjunction with the Really Needy HUD. This means that you can come to the sandbox, grab a free swim HUD and get fit swimming! Please note that Alethia Management does not provide support for this system. If you have a problem, please contact the creator directly.
We’re currently working on updating and migrating our adboards to mesh. New adboard rentals will be temporarily suspended while we work on them and will be back online as soon as we have them completed.
It’s been a long time since we’ve made a blog post and we’d like to update everybody on what’s been happening during the silence.
Redesign Work
As you may know, we’ve been planning to push ahead with a complete overhaul of the sim for a long time now. Unfortunately, progress has been slow and the sandbox feels a little disjointed with under-construction signs everywhere. Rest assured the redesign is going ahead, and we hope to have achieved a fresh new look with lots more activities and useful services by the time we finish.

Adboard Rentals
Due to popular demand, we’ve developed and installed an adboard system at the sandbox that can be used to promote locations, products or services in Second Life. Please visit our Adboard Rentals page for more information.
Donation Jars
We have changed our donation jars to automatically reset every week and not display the name of recent donors. Instead, they display the percentage of a target representing the weekly land fees that we pay to keep Alethia Island running. Needless to say, we are extremely grateful to all of our donors for their support.
Sandbox Rules Update
We are revising the sandbox rules to better cover parts that may have been unclear. The landing point welcome message will be updated to notify people of the change.
Rental Terms of Service Changes
We are revising the terms of service and rates of our store rentals. The new terms will be easier to understand and enforce clear rules on the type of scripts and objects that can be used in our stores. New rentals will be unavailable during this time. We will send a notice to tenants one week prior to implementing these changes.
Public Discord Server
We are exploring the idea of a community Discord server to help improve our user experience and make it easier to contact us or ask questions. We will make a dedicated post with more details once they are finalized.
